ONESTI KRIEGER

ONESTI KRIEGER

Onesti Krieger is a visual artist working in oils and acrylics. She loves painting abstracts and is venturing into a more impressionistic style with a recently found love of plein air painting. Painting gives her a precious opportunity to express her life moments and perceptions. She feels art can be found everywhere, in everything, if we just see it with the right eyes.

Onesti’s goal, through her artworks, is to communicate emotion in a visual experience. Creating art is a form of meditation for her and she feels it is an exchange of energy, a release and gain process. Her mission is to persuade others to feel and think while bringing awareness to the importance of expression.

She believes being involved in art and cultural development within your community is important. She is the current president of Williston Area Visual Artists (WAVA), one of the founding members of Plein Air on the Prairie (POP), a stakeholder for Creative Placemaking (Region 1) in North Dakota, a member of the 4th Street Cultural Corridor committee, and a member of the Art and Wine Walk committee in Williston. She continues to seek ways to add art to her community, while also exploring new artistic opportunities.

Onesti studied general education at Williston State College and visual arts at Moorhead State University. She is also the Proprietor of Transition Painting, based in Williston, ND.

ND STUDENT JURIED ART SHOW

NORTH DAKOTA JURIED

STUDENT ART SHOW

Each spring, teachers of K-12 in North Dakota schools select student artwork to enter in the ND Juried Student Art Show, which is juried at the Taube Museum of Art in Minot.

Of the 610 entries this year, jurors selected three pieces for the Governor’s Award to be hung in Governor Armstrong’s office, four for the State of the Arts Award, sponsored by Senator Kevin Cramer, four for the Northern Visions Award sponsored by Senator John Hoeven, and five for the Congressional Art Award. These selections will be hung in their offices for the year.

An additional 100 selections, including the Taube Museum of Art award winners, the People’s Choice, and Spotlight award winners, become a traveling exhibit for the following year.

Six Williston students are award winners this year.

Be sure to join us on Sunday, January 11th, from 2-3:30 PM for an artist reception.
