Chair-ity Auction

The James Memorial Art Center will host a Chair-ity auction from September 28 - October 4, 2026. 

Eight wooden youth chairs will be given out to community members or organizations to make one-of-a-kind creations that will be available for auction in late September. The chairs will be displayed in the main gallery the week of September 28 - October 4. The proceeds from the winning bids will go toward the James Memorial Preservation Society's building & operational funds for the art center.

• Eight chairs will be given out on a first-come, first-serve basis beginning Tuesday, August 11.

• The chairs can be painted/decorated in any fashion. The sky’s the limit!

• The chair can be themed and accompanied by other items within that theme.

• Chairs must be returned to the James no later than September 23, 2026.

• Bidding on the chairs will begin Monday, September 28th, and end on Sunday, October 4th.

Whether you're taking the mic or soaking up the atmosphere, Out Loud is the perfect way to celebrate summer before the season slips away.

ARTIST RECEPTIONS

Each month, The James invites the community to an artist reception where visitors can explore the latest exhibits, engage with the artists, and connect with fellow art enthusiasts. We typically offer delicious appetizers and at times, live music, creating a welcoming atmosphere to celebrate creativity and community together. Admission is free, making it an accessible opportunity to experience vibrant local and regional art.

Our next reception is Friday, August 7, from 6-7:30 PM.

GAME NIGHT

Join us at the James Memorial Art Center every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month for Game Night ~ 7 pm until Midnight! Bring your favorite board, card or RPG games and some friends and snacks, or join in on a game with others! All are welcome, free and open to the public.
