MARILYN NIEWOEHNER IN GALLERY I

MARILYN NIEWOEHNER

“LES FLEURS DE MON COEUR”

in GALLERY I

Marilyn Niewoehner is an artist who is known for her works in many mediums. Drawing on her Home Economics BS, she first started her artistic journey playing with color and texture on her sewing machine, thereby turning textiles into works of art. In 2013, she picked up a paintbrush and started experimenting with watercolor, acrylic and pastel.

Pastels have always intrigued this artist; beginning with her mother's colorful images on paper when she was a young child. The characteristics of the product to blend colors so uniquely is endless. From fine, sharp lines to blurred backgrounds, this medium is a perfect choice for any subject matter. It can be traditional, as well as modern. This repertoire of flowers and garden subjects is magnificent and restful. The artist tries to allow each petal to speak for itself.

"CUT AWAY: REDUCTION RELIEF PRINTS" IN GALLERY I

ERIC A. JOHNSON “CUT AWAY: rEDUCTION RELIEF PRINTS”

in GALLERY I

The main focus in my work, throughout my career, has been conceptualizing my personal experience into pieces that the viewer can relate to, regardless of their background or experience with the images presented.  The method/manner in which I do this has changed fairly drastically as my career has progressed, although the intent has remained relatively stable.

As I work, I put myself, if only very briefly, into the feelings of my audience; this has always been the goal of my work: to provide an escape into a feeling of wonder and miracle from a world that is often full of misery, negative happenstance, and mundane tasks.

This exhibition is a combination of my last two exhibits "The Nature of Things" (2017) and "Cut Away: Real Allegories of My Artistic Life" (2021), both first exhibited at the Rourke Art Museum and Gallery in Moorhead, MN.

Hey there, I'm Lindy Green! Self-taught conceptual photographer, wife & mom based out of Williston, ND.

While my personal artistry ranges in mediums & environments, my work consistently tells a bold story.

I have a need to feel close to the extraordinary phenomenon which is life & my art resembles my findings.

When I'm not crafting something, I'm thinking of crafting something, immersing my family & I in nature, or volunteering with various organizations in the community.
