April 3-28 Small Works (GII) and "Prairie Impressions"
Gallery I: Nicole Ganger's "Prairie Impressions is a great way to kick off spring. Her paintings are in a variety of mediums and fun sizes. They represent the landscape of ND and things that will remind you of home.
Nicole will be teaching a workshop April 29th in mixed media and creativity. Times will be posted on the Art Classes page!
Gallery II: Small Works: this exhibit consists of 63 entries from the Williston community! Limited to 12 inches in size, these small works pack a lot of punch into a small area. Be sure to see the creativity of the artists in our community!
A reception for the Small Works exhibit will be Friday April 7th from 7-9PM
March 1-15 JMPS Board of Directors and Photography Sale
March is a busy month at the James! The Annual Board of Directors show takes place March 1-15 along with a sale of photography by Admin. Monica Tininenko.
The Annual Camera Club and Woodworkers show will be March 18-26!
January 3-31 North Dakota Student Art Show
North Dakota Student Art Show
Many young Williston-area artists participate in the annual North Dakota Student Art Show. The winners selected from among 2016’s 765 statewide entries will be shown in galleries around North Dakota. The exhibit will be on display Jan. 1-31 at the James. An artists’ reception is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 13 from 4:00–6:00 p.m.
The Williston elementary, middle, and high school students whose artwork will be displayed include Sami Hammeren– Spotlight Award, Elizabeth Leko– People’s Choice Award, Kaylee Pitman (Williston Middle School); Katie Matlock (Williston High School); Ashley VanBerkom-2 pieces selected (Trinity Christian School); Brooklynn Kitchens (Lewis and Clark Elementary School); and Hayden Krieger (McVay Elementary School).
Honorable mentions also go out to two other young Williston artists: Scout Graham, whose art piece at Kids Day Out won a Beau Theige original guitar, and Kat Canerdy, whose art piece inspired by the James’ 2016 Mexican Cultural Art Class won “Best of Show” at the North Dakota State Fair.
