JUNE 30 - AUGUST 1 IN GALLERY I

ARTSPACE SUITE 1 GALLERY

THE “SUITE” ONE

in GALLERY I

Artspace Suite 1 Gallery brings together a collective of local artists dedicated to creating professional art and presenting and promoting art and artists to the community.  The gallery was founded in 2016, with five of the original artists still participating. It is currently run by nine working artists, each bringing a distinct style, medium, and point of view. This isn’t a curated echo chamber — it’s a creative collision. Expect paintings beside ceramics, mixed media across from jewelry, and work ranging from experimentation to refined technique.

Artspace Suite 1 Gallery is as much about process as it is about product. “We’re not here to match sofas,” says Nancy Walter, one of the founding members. “We’re here to show real work from real people at every stage of the journey.”

From seasoned professionals to emerging talents, the nine members span a wide spectrum. What unites them is the commitment to shared risk, shared space, and shared ambition. The cooperative model gives each artist equal voice in decisions, and equal responsibility in keeping the doors open. They include Walter Piehl, Linda Olson, Nancy Walter, Colleen Folven, Elizabeth Woods, Karen Davidson, Conrad Davidson, Doug Pfliger, and Pat Marquard. The number of artists participating has ebbed and flowed over the years, and we are always open to accepting new artists into our community.

The gallery is located in the Artspace building on the corner of Central and Main in downtown Minot. It has adopted the mission “to create great art for the community and a great community for artists.”
