Rob Anderson was born and raised in New Rockford, a small town in central North Dakota. He graduated from New Rockford's Central High School in 1968. He is an artist and retired educator currently living in Minot, North Dakota.
Rob is primarily a printmaker who enjoys creating monoprint or monotypes using ink and acrylic paint on a variety of papers, mostly watercolor or rice paper.
Anderson has recently been developing a process where he laminates many layers of cut paper resulting in images with somewhat of a sculptural appearance. The work is mostly crosses and is inspired by mola cloth, which is a fabric created by women of the Kuna Indian tribe who live on the San Blas Islands off the coast of Panama.
He has also recently been experimenting with collage using a variety of materials and techniques.
THIS EXHIBIT INCLUDES ALL THREE MEDIUMS.
