Game Night at the James

On the second Saturday of each month, from 5:00 p.m. to midnight, we will be hosting a community game night!  Role playing games, card games, board games, are all welcome! Join our board members as they bring their favorite games for a night of friendly competition!  Coffee will be provided, and participants are encouraged to bring their own snacks.  So, pack up your favorite game and meet us at the James!

This event is free and open to the public!  Donations welcome.  

Out Loud at the James

Calling all acoustic musicians, storytellers, comedians and poets!  This night is for you!  Join us every third Friday of the month from 8 to 10 p.m. Bring your poems, songs, and jokes and share with a welcoming crowd of your neighbors and friends.  Enjoy the atmosphere as we turn Center Stage into a hip coffee house! There is no entry fee, however, donations are welcome.

Community BBQ Friday, August 24th from 5-7 pm

Come join us for some hamburgers, hotdogs, salads, sides and all the fixings for a great BBQ. Come hang out in the front lawn of The James and enjoy the company of fellow art enthusiasts. This event is open to the public and will be a free will offering donation for the meal. We encourage you to bring your whole family and a blanket to sit on the lawn. See you there!!

Artist Talk & Reception with local artist, Jamie Azevedo on Friday, October 5th from 7-9pm. Jamie will be showing in both galleries the month of October. Her collection entitled, "The Female Gaze," will be featured in Gallery I. $50 from each piece she sells, from this collection, will be put into a fund to create a scholarship for a female student at WSC. Featured in gallery II, Jamie's collection entitled, "Preserving History" will be hung up for the month of October as well. Jamie's collections will be available to view from October 2 through October 29.

Art Fest 2018

Juried Pop Culture show at the james

The James Memorial Art Center is hosting a juried Pop Culture show and it is open to public entries!! This juried Pop Culture show will be up in Gallery II at the James for two months! Starting November 1st through December 30th. Prizes will be awarded for best of show in our adult and youth categories. Drop off dates for art are October 19-26. Pieces must have a Pop Culture theme, i.e. music, movie, tv shows, comic books, etc. There are no size or media restrictions. We are excited to see all the talent Williston has to offer! For an entry form you can stop into the office during business hours, Monday-Thursday 9am-2pm and Fridays 1-5pm. You can also email us at jmps@nemont.net

Warm Up After Light Up is looking for Vendors!!!

Attention Artists, Bakers, and Crafters! Its the most wonderful time of the year, and this year for our annual Warm Up After Light Up event, the James Memorial Art Center on November 23rd from 6:00-9:00 pm, is trying something new! Along with the usual music, cider, and hot cocoa, snacks and a special visit from Santa, we will be having a winter vendor show in the lower level of the building. This is a great time to share your goods for the holiday season. Space for this show is very limited, so please stop in or email us to request a vendor application and turn it into the office by October 30th. If you have any other questions about this event, please contact the office during business hours.
