A Night of Edgar Allan Poe Readings

"Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary,"

Join us for an evening of literary horror and macabre delight on

 Friday, October the 27th from 7 - 10 pm on Center Stage! 

Bring your favorite Poe poem or short story or choose from our selection. Perform a piece or simply enjoy listening to the melancholy tales of one of America's greatest storytellers!  Refreshments and non- alcoholic drinks will be served.  

No charge for entry~ donations welcome!



Gallery Reception for James Skinner & Community Art Collection

On Friday, November the 3rd from 7 to 9 p.m. be sure to join us for a public reception featuring the works of Williston's own James Skinner as well as a very unique exhibit entitled "Community Art Collection".   Local art patrons Ardis Jacobson, Adrienne Stepanek and LaVonne Hartel have agreed to share beautiful works of art they have collected over the years with the community.   We hope to see you at this wonderful reception!


Mixed Media Juried Show

 This show is open for public entries!  We will be accepting drawings, paintings, and collages.  Guidelines include the use of at least two mediums in your work.  Artists may submit up to 3 pieces.  

Works will be juried by JMPS Board President Deana Novak and JMPS Board Member and Williston State College Art Instructor, Lino Azevedo.  Pieces must be dropped off at the James the week of November 20th (minus Thanksgiving day).  

Prizes Awarded are Best of Show ($50 cash award), People's Choice, and Honorable Mention.

Out Loud at The James

Calling all acoustic musicians, storytellers, comedians and poets!  This night is for you!  Join us for the inaugural kick off of this new event on Friday, November the 17th from 8 to 10 p.m. Bring your poems, songs, and jokes and share with a welcoming crowd of your neighbors and friends.  Enjoy the atmosphere as we turn Center Stage into a hip coffee house!
